From helping rivals to heartbreak: CE Dealer Team’s dramatic KymiRing weekend
From helping rivals to heartbreak: CE Dealer Team’s dramatic KymiRing weekend
CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment (CE Dealer Team) made headlines on and off the track at the FIA World Rallycross Championship (World RX) in Finland – first for helping Hansen Motorsport stay in the fight, and then for suffering their own misfortune when a first-corner collision in the final ended Grönholm’s challenge and Andersson missed out on the grid for the decisive race.
Home hero Niclas Grönholm looked set to fight for victory in Sunday’s final before contact in the first corner with Finnish driver Juha Rytkönen damaged his car, ending his challenge in cruel fashion. Rytkönen was later penalised for the incident, handing Kevin Hansen a podium spot after being promoted to third place.
Earlier in the weekend, teammate Klara Andersson showed strong pace in the heats but narrowly missed out on a place in the final, despite fighting until the very last lap.
The setbacks meant CE Dealer Team left Finland without the podium they had targeted – but with the fight still alive in their championship campaign.
“Motorsport can be brutal, and today it was,” said Grönholm. “We had the speed, the home support, and everything to fight for – then suddenly it was gone. That’s racing. It hurts right now, but we’ll regroup and come back stronger.”
The weekend was also marked by CE Dealer Team and Volvo CE’s decision to support rivals Hansen Motorsport, ensuring they could make the start. That gesture was widely praised across the paddock as a rare display of sportsmanship in a high-stakes title fight.
Despite the disappointment, the team remains firmly in contention in both the drivers’ and teams’ championships. After KymiRing, Kristoffersson Motorsport leads the standings with 122 points, CE Dealer Team sits second with 104, and Hansen Motorsport follows with 94.
Team Principal Jussi Pinomäki said: “We saw both sides of sport this weekend – the camaraderie between teams, and the heartbreak of competition. It was a tough result to take, but it fuels our determination. There are still races left, and we’ll be ready to hit back.”
The weekend was a highlight off track, as Volvo CE hosted a vibrant programme of demonstrations, talks, and networking at KymiRing. Hundreds of invited guests – including customers, suppliers, and employees – came together to connect, share ideas, and experience the latest generation of Volvo CE machines in action.
The showcase blended innovation with community spirit, strengthening relationships across the industry and motorsport worlds.
Volvo CE also played a crucial role in preparing and maintaining the rallycross circuit itself – a track build widely hailed as a success by drivers and fans alike.
Arvid Rinaldo, Brand & Marketing Communications, Volvo CE, said: “We are extremely proud of the role Volvo CE played in building and maintaining the KymiRing rallycross track.
Delivering a world-class circuit takes precision, teamwork, and the right machines – and the response from drivers and fans proves we achieved exactly that.”
The FIA World RX Championship continues with a season finale double-header on 20-21 September at Istanbul Park in Türkiye. CE Dealer Team will look to turn frustration into redemption and keep the pressure on in the fight for the 2025 crown.

CE Dealer Team ready for new challenge as World RX arrives in Finland
CE Dealer Team ready for new challenge as World RX arrives in Finland
The FIA World Rallycross Championship makes its debut at Finland’s KymiRing this weekend – and for CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment (CE Dealer Team), it marks another opportunity to combine high-performance competition with a clear purpose: to push motorsport and industry toward a more sustainable future.
The brand-new KymiRing track has been built with Volvo Construction Equipment’s (Volvo CE) latest generation of machines, including the debut of the L120 Electric wheel loader in Finland and the EC230 Electric excavator with engcon tiltrotator. As Official Track Building Partner, Volvo CE has shaped a track designed for both speed and spectacle – with flowing corners, banked turns, and jumps to test drivers and thrill fans.
More than 250 guests and media will join Volvo CE at KymiRing to witness the racing spectacle and a live showcase of how new technologies are transforming both motorsport and construction.
Drivers anticipating a true rallycross challenge
For Niclas Grönholm, Finland brings added energy: “A new track is always exciting because you start from zero. The KymiRing track looks technical but also flowing, with big features that will be a real test. Racing in Finland always gives me something extra, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Klara Andersson is equally motivated: “From what we’ve seen, this is a proper rallycross track – elevation, jumps, and wide corners that invite side-by-side racing. It’s the kind of track where you can really showcase the performance of these electric cars and give the fans a show.”
Precision preparation from the team
Behind the wheel, every detail matters. Team Engineer, Andreas Fröderberg, highlights the preparation: “With a new circuit, you’re working with a lot of unknowns. The jumps demand stability, but you also need agility through the tighter sections. It’s a balancing act in setup, and those details can be decisive in such a close season.”
More than just racing
For CE Dealer Team and its partners, the weekend is about far more than chasing race wins. From pioneering their safety programme, to showcasing high-performance electric race cars, to creating platforms where innovation can be experienced first-hand, the team is built to deliver value well beyond the track.
Bill Law, Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications at Volvo CE, explains: “We don’t invest in motorsport just to see cars go fast. World RX is a platform where we can demonstrate what’s possible with new technologies, profile electrification both on and off track, and create real value for our partners. That means showcasing our latest generation equipment in action, providing testing and demo opportunities, hosting seminars, and creating space for valuable networking. It’s about driving change – for motorsport, for construction, and for the wider industry – toward a more sustainable, inclusive, and innovative future.”
The Finland round marks the fourth stop of the 2025 season, with the championship fight still wide open. As the series breaks new ground at KymiRing, CE Dealer Team arrives focused, prepared, and ready to embrace the challenge – on track and beyond.

CE Dealer Team and Volvo CE help Hansen Motorsport return to WRX in Finland - rivals unite for the future of rallycross
CE Dealer Team and Volvo CE help Hansen Motorsport return to the grid in Finland - rivals unite for the future of rallycross
In a move without precedent in world motorsport, CE Dealer Team - powered by Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) and PWR Group - has stepped in to support long-time rivals Hansen Motorsport, enabling the iconic team to join this weekend’s FIA World Rallycross Championship round in Finland (23-24 August).
The extraordinary collaboration follows intense behind-the-scenes discussions and a race against time since Hansen Motorsport announced it would be forced to withdraw. Thanks to CE Dealer Team’s intervention, their has been a joint effort to get Hansen Motorsport back on the grid at KymiRing to ensure rallycross fans witness one of the sport’s great names to compete.
This is the first time a team has put aside the fierce rivalry of world championship competition to actively help a direct competitor race. The motivation: a shared mission to prove that motorsport can thrive through sustainable technology and values-led collaboration.
“We fight for the sport we love”
Micke Jansson, CEO of CE Dealer Team & PWR Group explained the decision: “We support Hansen Motorsport because keeping them on the grid reflects exactly why we started CE Dealer Team with Volvo CE four years ago. Of course, we are a highly competitive team, but our purpose has always been bigger than trophies. It’s about driving motorsport and industry towards a sustainable future. Seeing rival teams come together to make this happen proves the spirit and potential of World RX. In the end, it was a clear choice to step up.”
“This doesn’t happen in motorsport”
Kenneth Hansen, Team Principal of Hansen Motorsport, expressed his gratitude: “A few days ago, we could not see a way back to Finland. Then these discussions began, and suddenly there was hope. I could never have imagined this as a solution - it just doesn’t happen in motorsport. This is an incredible act of goodwill, proving the love for the sport and the commitment to its future.”
Partner perspective: why this matters for business
Bill Law, Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications at Volvo Construction Equipment, added: “As a global business, we don’t invest in motorsport just for the love of competition. We invest in teams and technologies that align with our mission - advancing sustainability, innovation, and diversity - while giving us a powerful platform to showcase those values. This collaboration demonstrates that rallycross is not only about adrenaline and speed but also about leadership, creativity, and a willingness to work together for a more sustainable future. That’s exactly why Volvo CE is here.”
Pioneering beyond the track
The World RX championship stands at a pivotal crossroads, and actions like this underline the shared responsibility to secure its future. By supporting Hansen Motorsport to compete with their electric-powered cars, CE Dealer Team and Volvo CE are working to ensure that the championship continues to showcase world-class racing while accelerating technology transfer and industry collaboration.

CE Dealer Team stays in title fight after gritty Nyirád battle
CE Dealer Team stays in title fight after gritty Nyirád battle
CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment (CE Dealer Team) continues to fight at the sharp end of the 2025 FIA World Rallycross (World RX) Championship despite a tough weekend at Hungary’s Nyirád circuit."
The dust-heavy “Red Cauldron” pushed drivers and teams to the limit in Round 3 of the season. Niclas Grönholm lined up on the front row of the Final, starting alongside championship leader Johan Kristoffersson after a strong qualifying performance. But contact in the first corner dashed his podium hopes, and he was forced to settle for sixth place after a tough recovery drive.
Teammate Klara Andersson delivered her best result of the season, finishing fourth overall in a confident and competitive showing that underlined her continued progress in the 2025 campaign.
Grönholm now sits second in the Drivers' Championship, staying within reach of the lead as the title battle intensifies. Andersson’s strong showing marks her best finish of the season so far, underlining her growing momentum. CE Dealer Team sits second in the Teams’ Championship, keeping the pressure on.
"It was a tough weekend but not without positives," said Team Principal Jussi Pinomäki. "We saw strong qualifying sessions and good pace, but sometimes the margins go against you. We’ll come back stronger in KymiRing."
"It’s a competitive field and you have to take every opportunity," said Grönholm. "We didn’t maximise this round, but we’re right there in the title fight."
"Every round gives us more to build on," added Andersson. "We’re working hard and the next win is within reach."
The FIA World Rallycross Championship continues in KymiRing, Finland (23-24 August), where CE Dealer Team aims to bounce back and reignite its title charge.

CE Dealer Team Ready to Defend Championship Lead at Nyirád
CE Dealer Team Ready to Defend Championship Lead at Nyirád Rallycross Round
Strong start to 2025 continues as electric team targets podium pace in Hungary
CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment (CE Dealer Team) heads into Round 3 of the 2025 FIA World Rallycross (World RX) Championship in Hungary with a clear goal: to continue its strong championship push and challenge for top results at the gritty and challenging Nyirád circuit.
After a rain-soaked battle in Höljes that saw the team retain its lead in both the Teams’ and Drivers’ standings, confidence is high in the electric-powered squad. Niclas Grönholm currently tops the Drivers’ Championship after two rounds, while teammate Klara Andersson is eager to convert strong pace into points after a challenging home weekend.
The Nyirád track - often referred to as the “Red Cauldron” - offers a fast, flowing layout with gravel-heavy sections and technical demands that reward precision and bravery. It presents a fresh challenge for CE Dealer Team’s all-electric race cars, but one the team is prepared to meet.
“We’ve started the season with a clear sense of purpose and strong team energy,” said Team Principle, Jussi Pinomäki. “Both drivers have shown great pace, and we’ve learned a lot from the first two events. We’re focused on keeping up the momentum and delivering another strong result in Hungary.”
“Nyirád is a proper rallycross track – fast, loose and rewarding when you get it right,” said Grönholm. “Leading the championship is a great position to be in, but we know how close the racing is. The key will be consistency and clean execution across the weekend.”
“I’m fully recharged and ready to push hard,” added Andersson. “We’ve shown we have the pace - now it’s about executing every session and delivering the result. The aim is to fight at the front and help keep CE Dealer Team on top.”
CE Dealer Team enters the Hungary round with 74 points in the Teams’ Championship and a clear statement of intent: to keep setting the pace in electric rallycross and build on an already impressive 2025 season.

CE Dealer Team hold on to championship lead in rain-soaked Höljes
CE Dealer Team holds on to championship lead in rain-soaked Höljes
CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment (CE Dealer Team) strengthened its grip on the 2025 FIA World Rallycross (World RX) Championship this weekend, battling through heavy rain and unpredictable track conditions to secure a valuable podium at its home race in Höljes.
Niclas Grönholm finished second in Sunday’s Final after a composed and calculated drive through a weekend dominated by wet weather and standing water. The result means he now leads the Drivers’ Championship with 50 points, six ahead of second-placed Johan Kristoffersson.
Teammate Klara Andersson showed strong pace over the weekend, starting with a solid third place in Heat 1. She put in a fiercely competitive semi-final battle but narrowly missed the final.
Most notably, the team’s combined performance was enough to retain the lead in the Teams’ Championship - now sitting at 74 points after two rounds. The consistent pace and strong results from both drivers continue to underline CE Dealer Team’s intent in the 2025 title fight.
“We knew this would be a tough event as the rain gathered in intensity over the weekend,” said Team Manager Jussi Pinomäki.
“Niclas delivered when it mattered and managed the conditions superbly. Klara was fast throughout – even if the final result didn’t reflect it. We leave Höljes still leading both championships, and with even more knowledge heading into Nyirád.”
“These were some of the most difficult conditions I’ve raced in,” said Grönholm.
“There was standing water in places and very little grip. I didn’t get the perfect start in the final but managed to hold on to second and keep the championship lead, which is what matters most.”
“The semi-final didn’t go our way – that’s part of racing. But weekends like this sharpen your skills, and I’m more motivated than ever to come back stronger,” added Andersson. “I’m proud of the team’s overall result and fully focused on delivering in Hungary.”
The Höljes round was the second event of the 2025 season and brought rallycross back to its most iconic venue in classic Scandinavian summer conditions: dramatic skies, deep puddles, and packed grandstands.
As official track building partner to World RX, Volvo Construction Equipment once again supported the event with safe and sustainable track management and recovery – proving performance and resilience, no matter the weather.
CE Dealer Team now turns its focus to Round 3 in Hungary (Nyirád, 19-20 July), where the aim is clear: build on the championship lead and keep both cars in the fight at the front.

CE Dealer Team heads to Höljes with championship momentum and ongoing focus on safety
CE Dealer Team heads to Höljes with championship momentum and ongoing focus on safety
Big weekend ahead with 300 guests and strong ambitions on and off track
CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment (CE Dealer Team) is back in action this weekend as the FIA World RX Championship heads to Sweden for its most iconic stop - Höljes. With a strong opening round behind them, the team is focused on continuing its campaign for the Teams’ Championship, while also welcoming 300 guests to one of the highlights of the motorsports calendar.
After a positive start to the season in Portugal, where the PWR RX1e cars showed impressive pace and reliability, the team enters the Höljes weekend well-prepared. A productive test programme and solid data from round one has helped fine-tune the setup ahead of one of the most demanding circuits on the calendar.
“We’ve had a good build-up to Höljes,” said Team Principal, Jussi Pinomäki. “It’s a track that demands confidence and commitment - and with the speed we’ve shown and the preparation we’ve done, we’re aiming to keep our position at the top of the standings.”
Klara Andersson made history in 2023, becoming the first woman to claim a World RX podium in Höljes and the first to finish second in a World RX final anywhere. With that milestone behind her and a competitive opening round in Portugal, she’s looking forward to returning to familiar ground.
“Höljes is always special - the track, the fans, the atmosphere - it’s unlike anywhere else,” said Andersson. “Last year was a big moment for me here, and I can’t wait to get back and push for more this time around.”
Niclas Grönholm, fresh off a win in Portugal, also has strong form at Höljes and is aiming to keep the momentum going.
“The team’s done a great job preparing for this round. We know the competition will be tight, but we’re confident in the car and our approach,” he said.
Full house at the 'Magic Weekend'
This year’s Höljes round, often dubbed the ‘Magic Weekend’, will also see the CE Dealer Team host 300 guests - the biggest hospitality presence the team has had to date. With a packed grandstand, the festival atmosphere and top-tier racing action, it’s set to be a standout weekend for partners, fans and the team alike.
Volvo Construction Equipment, the official track builder for the FIA World RX Championship, will be on site, ensuring the track is kept in perfect condition throughout the event. Höljes will also be one of the first chances for customers to experience Volvo CE’s newly launched excavators, wheel loaders, and articulated haulers firsthand.
Continued commitment to safety
Beyond the racing, CE Dealer Team continues to lead by example in building a more responsible motorsports culture – with safety at its core. The introduction of a dedicated safety officer in 2023 marked the start of a long-term initiative to raise awareness, improve working practices, and challenge norms around safety in motorsport operations.
Now in its third season, the programme continues to evolve. For 2025, the team is introducing further protective measures - including the use of safety glasses and safety shoes in operational areas - as part of its ongoing commitment to do better, year by year. The team has also worked with Parker to implement their quick-connect coupling systems, helping reduce risk and improve handling efficiency during high pressure, trackside operations.
“Safety has to be more than a checklist - it’s about mindset and culture,” said Pinomäki. “We’re constantly asking ourselves how we can improve, what more we can do, and how we can set a higher standard — not just for ourselves, but for the sport.”

CE Dealer Team leads FIA World RX standings after strong start at Lousada
CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment (CE Dealer Team) kicked off the 2025 FIA World Rallycross Championship with a powerful display in Portugal, taking an early lead in the Teams’ Championship and celebrating a strong win for Niclas Grönholm in Sunday’s final.
The goal for the season is clear: to win the Teams’ Championship. Round one delivered a great foundation, with both drivers setting competitive lap times across the weekend and the PWR RX1e cars proving fast and reliable. As a result, the team leaves Portugal in early control of the championship battle.
“This is the kind of start we were aiming for,” said Team Principle, Jussi Pinomäki. “Niclas drove with control and precision, and Klara matched his pace through much of the weekend – showing real grit to bounce back after a challenging start.”
“It feels good – a great start to the season,” said Grönholm. “We had the speed, the execution, and a solid effort from the whole team.”
Grönholm’s win in Sunday’s final was hard-fought and well-executed, rounding off a consistent weekend from the Finnish driver.
Klara Andersson delivered a determined performance to reach the finals, recovering strongly after a disrupted opening heat.
“Maybe not the personal result I was aiming for, but a positive weekend overall. We kept pushing, made good progress and the main goal - scoring strong points for the Teams’ Championship - played out well,” said Andersson.
“The atmosphere was amazing; you could really feel the passion from the fans – it gave the whole event a great energy.”
Lousada’s demanding layout and changeable grip levels provided a real test for the fully electric RX1e cars. The CE Dealer Team’s twin-motor PWR RX1e, delivering 500kW and 880Nm of torque, proved well-suited to the track’s steep climbs, tight corners and mixed surfaces.
As official track building partner to World RX, Volvo Construction Equipment played a key role in maintaining perfect track conditions throughout the weekend – supporting fair, competitive racing from start to finish. The team also provided safe and efficient recovery support when needed. “The track was kept in perfect condition this weekend - great work from everyone involved,” said Niclas Grönholm.
Ascendum, Volvo Construction Equipment’s partner in Portugal, supported the event from its local base.
The 2025 season opener also marked a new phase for World RX, with the FIA stepping into the role of series promotor. After a winter of uncertainty over the future of the championship, the event delivered a clear signal: rallycross is moving forward. With packed grandstands, high-level competition and a strong event delivery, Lousada set the tone for the season ahead.
CE Dealer Team now turns its focus to round two – and building on a strong start to the championship fight.

CE Dealer Team Targets Teams’ Title as FIA World RX Kicks Off in Lousada
CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment (CE Dealer Team) is set to kick off the 2025 FIA World Rallycross Championship season at the historic Eurocircuito da Costilha in Lousada, Portugal, this weekend. Marking the return of World RX to Lousada after a 17-year hiatus, the event also heralds the start of a new era for the team, with a renewed focus on clinching the Teams’ Championship.
Lousada, often referred to as the heartland of rallycross in Portugal, has undergone significant upgrades to meet World Championship standards. The track now features a widened turn three and a new joker lap, while its 60% asphalt and 40% gravel surface blend guarantees intense racing that demands sharp precision and expert car control.
As a fully electric team on the grid, CE Dealer Team continues to compete at the forefront of the FIA’s ‘Battle of Technologies’, where electric RX1e cars race head-to-head against sustainably-fueled combustion-powered machines. Beyond performance, the team enters the season with their purpose-driven mission to accelerate sustainability in motorsport and challenge norms.
Team Manager Jussi Pinomäki expressed confidence ahead of the season opener:
“We’re entering this season with a clear objective: to secure the Teams’ Championship. The upgrades at Lousada provide a fresh challenge, but our preparation has been thorough. The blend of tradition and innovation here mirrors our own approach to racing.”
Driver Niclas Grönholm, who has consistently finished on the podium in past seasons, shared his thoughts:
“It’s good to be back. We’ve prepared well, and the goal is the same as always: to push for the best result we can. Let’s get going.”
Driver Klara Andersson, entering her forth season with the team, added:
“There’s always extra energy at the first race, and Lousada brings a lot of that – big crowds, passionate fans, and a proper drivers’ circuit. We’ve made big steps forward as a team, and we’re here to fight. We’re ready to give it our all and aim for the top spot in the Teams’ standings.”
The World RX of Portugal in Lousada is scheduled for May 31 to June 1, 2025.
Fans can catch all 2025 World RX rounds live and free on the World RX YouTube channel, making the sport more accessible than ever. The championship will also air on national broadcasters across key markets, ensuring broad accessibility worldwide.

CE Dealer Team joins World RX 2025: New rules, same powerful purpose
CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment is back on track for the World RX 2025 season – and in full preparation mode. With changes to the regulations, this year promises to be one of the most competitive yet.
Following the FIA’s decision to invest directly in the World RX – taking on both operator and promoter roles – the championship is entering a new era of performance and innovation. Testing restrictions have been lifted, differential adjustments permitted, softer compound tyres, and a new weight limit introduced with an Equivalency of Technology (EOT) test planned to confirm these weights. Together, these changes give teams greater freedom to push the limits of performance. In other words: it’s game on.“
These changes reflect a shift we’ve been pushing for - and now we have the opportunity to really show what we’re capable of,” says Jussi Pinomäki, Team Principal, CE Dealer Team. “Our mission remains the same: to compete at the top level while staying true to the values that define us – and this year, that means winning the Teams’ Championship.”
That mission is rooted in purpose: to accelerate sustainability in motorsport, challenge norms, and build a platform for greater diversity and inclusion in the paddock and beyond. CE Dealer Team is the only team on the grid created with this kind of long-term ambition and enters 2025 more determined than ever to drive change through performance.
Klara Andersson and Niclas Grönholm are confirmed as official drivers for the season.
“I’m fired up for this season,” says Klara Andersson. “We’ve got the team, the tools, and the testing time - now we get to show what we can really do.”
“I’m racing to win,” adds Niclas Grönholm, keeping it characteristically brief and direct.
FIA Road Sport Director, Emilia Abel, added “I’m delighted to see CE Dealer Team confirm such a strong driver line-up. It’s another positive step for both the championship and the future of rallycross.”
The team’s momentum is powered by the continued support of engcon and Parker Hannifin, who return as main partners. Texstar continues as clothing partner, alongside support from the team’s Gold sponsors, dealers Swecon and Ascendum.
As the 2025 season begins, CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment stands ready to deliver both performance and progress – and to compete at the highest level.

CE Dealer Team and Volvo CE accelerates safety program in FIA World RX
CE Dealer Team and Volvo Construction Equipment have continued to accelerate their safety program throughout the 2024 FIA World Rallycross Championship with new technologies and a full-time Safety Officer.
“Everyone involved in the CE Dealer Team programme already has safety as their top priority and we have accelerated our work further during 2024 by introducing the next step of our unique safety program together with our strategic partners,” said Arvid Rinaldo, Head of Partnership and Operational Involvement in World RX for Volvo CE.
CE Dealer Team by Volvo CE has appointed a full-time Safety Officer and developed new technologies to ensure the highest possible level of safety for the team throughout the season, as well during the building and maintenance of the race tracks - including recovery of race cars.
The team is the first FIA World RX team with a full-time Safety Officer. Taking that role is seasoned motorsport expert Mika Seppänen, who has worked as an engineer for several teams within rallycross in the areas of engine management and electrical systems.
A key part of his work is to implement the newly developed and unique electrical safety routines of the team.
“I’m delighted to have joined the CE Dealer Team on their exciting journey of electrification and world level competition in the FIA World RX,” said Mika Seppänen, Safety Officer of CE Dealer Team.
“For me, the main task is to develop a new safety culture for the team. This means that we identify the most critical areas of risk and strengthen our guidelines for how and when to act. The team has already got a high standard in their work, but we can never relax and need to keep pushing development - especially regarding safety.”
The 100% electric race cars of the CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment are equipped with a 52kWh performance battery and deliver 500kW from its electric twin motors – potent race cars which require strict safety regulations regarding the charging process, especially during race weekends which feature a tight time schedule and a crowded pit area.
A key part of the enhanced safety programme is the introduction of the Parker Series 70 Quick Couplings, installed in the cooling circuit of the charging system for the all-electric race cars of CE Dealer Team.
“We are thrilled to have added the Parker Series 70 Quick Couplings which will enhance the safety of the cooling circuit and ensure greater protection during race days. The Parker Series 70 Quick Couplings allow for lightning quick release of the cooling hoses in the unlikely event of a fire,” said Richard Roebuck, Global Key Account Manager, Parker Hannifin.

CE Dealer Team secures FIA World RX bronze with season finale podium in Türkiye
CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment celebrated its third consecutive FIA World Rallycross Championship team medal as the 2024 season ended in Türkiye this weekend. Niclas Grönholm capped off the year with a podium finish while Klara Andersson secured her best overall finish.
CE Dealer Team, the only gender equal FIA World RX team, entered the Türkiye double-header fighting for the championship medals, competing as an all-electric team against sustainably-fueled ICE cars in the final stage of the inaugural "Battle of Technologies" season.
The team took to the newly refreshed rallycross circuit at Istanbul Park which has been thoroughly upgraded, prepared and maintained by Volvo Construction Equipment with its cutting-edge machinery - following more than a decade of no events at the Turkish venue.
Eight-time FIA World RX race winner Niclas Grönholm entered the weekend in a fierce battle for bronze in the driver standings. The Finnish star started strong, claiming second place and his fourth podium of the season on Saturday, while scoring more points than any other driver.
Sunday brought tougher conditions, with Niclas pushing hard on the wet track to finish fifth in the championship, just 13 points shy of the overall podium.
"Overall, it’s been a tough season and a challenging final weekend. We didn’t have the pace we needed to compete for podium positions in the championship. There have been a lot of ups and downs this year, and that’s just not enough if you want to contend for the title. Still, I’m happy to have made it back on the podium and to give something back to the team and our partners who’ve worked so hard throughout the season," said Niclas Grönholm.
Swedish rallycross ace Klara Andersson achieved her best-ever overall finish in an FIA World RX season, securing sixth place in the standings with two podiums during the year and narrowly missed the final on both days in Türkiye.
”Last night, we found a technical issue with the car. Today in the dry, the speed was really good, but in the wet, we just didn’t have enough pace to compete for the top. It’s been a tough season that started incredibly well in Sweden and Hungary, but ended on a tough note. I’m really disappointed now, but we’ll regroup and hopefully come back stronger next year. Thanks to everyone in the team for their hard work this year,” said Klara Andersson.
CE Dealer Team wraps up its third FIA World RX season, pushing sustainable motorsport and showcasing the excitement of an electric future. The team secured its third consecutive teams' championship medal, finishing third overall after six podium finishes, including one win in 2024.
”The final weekend is done and like so many times before, a solid start but not the ending we hoped for. I’m happy for Niclas' podium yesterday, especially after tough races in Belgium and Portugal, it was great to be back on pace. Klara struggled yesterday, but we made some adjustments and picked up good speed. Today in the dry, we were really strong, and it looked like things were going our way. But then the weather turned, and we couldn’t match the pace of the ICE cars in the wet,” said Jussi Pinomäki, Team Manager of CE Dealer Team.
”We have never scored so many podiums in one season before, but It’s been a tough year with ups and unfortunately too many downs. But that’s racing for you. This first season with the 'Battle of Technologies' showed great potential and we’ll keep working to make it all come together. We will never give up and we will keep pushing forward.”

CE Dealer Team chases medals in thrilling FIA World RX of Türkiye season finale
The 100% electric CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment heads to Istanbul Park in Türkiye for the 2024 FIA World RX season finale, concluding the team’s third season of thrilling and sustainable motorsport as the fight for the medals remain wide open.
The season finale features an action-packed double-header, taking place at the legendary F1 circuit Istanbul Park, marking Türkiye's return to the FIA World RX for the first time since 2015 and replaces the originally scheduled finale in China.
Volvo Construction Equipment has spent the last month working on preparing and upgrading the Turkish circuit regarding safety barriers, drainage, areas and more - as the track has been unused for over a decade.
Eight-time race winner Niclas Grönholm heads to Istanbul placed fifth in the drivers’ championship, just ten points shy of third place in the fight for his fourth consecutive FIA World RX medal.
“Our goal in Türkiye is to get back to the strong performance we showed at the start of the season. A third-place finish in the drivers' championship is still within reach, so I'll be pushing hard for that and of course the teams’ championship. The track is new to me, so there will probably be a learning curve throughout the weekend, but we're determined to end the season on a high note,” said Niclas Grönholm.
24-year-old Swedish rallycross star Klara Andersson is on track for her best-ever finish in the FIA World RX, currently holding sixth place in the driver standings as she heads into the final weekend of the season. The PWR RX1e driver also has a shot at a podium finish, trailing her team-mate by just 17 points in the championship race.
“I am excited to be back racing again. It's my first time in Türkiye, and a new track for me, which is a thrilling new challenge. Our goals and ambitions are high, we want to finish the season on top and score as many points as possible. Of course, it’s tough with a larger field and many fast drivers. Hopefully, we’ve learned from the past two weekends and can show the true potential of this groundbreaking team,” said Klara Andersson.
CE Dealer Team, the only championship team with a gender-equal driver line-up, is set to conclude its third year in the sustainable FIA World RX. As the inaugural ‘Battle of Technology’ season wraps up in Türkiye, the team aims for a third consecutive teams' championship medal and to break into the top two.
“Istanbul Park brings back great memories, the FIA World RX was here ten years ago, and it was a nice, challenging track back then. Now we’re back for a double-header season finale with a lot on the line. Following a break after Portugal and some schedule changes, the team is excited and ready to finish the season on a high,” said Jussi Pinomäki, Team Manager of CE Dealer Team.
“The team’s preparation meetings have shown just how motivated everyone is to step up. Recent races haven’t been easy, but the pace was there if you look beyond the results. Now it’s all about pulling it together, staying focused and hungry. I’m looking forward to an exciting event with new competitors in the mix, aiming to end the season better than we have so far."
The World RX of Türkiye finale weekend starts on Saturday with round nine of the 2024 FIA World RX, followed by the season closing round ten on Sunday.
The action is broadcast LIVE worldwide on TV – as well as through the Rally.TV online streaming platform and SVT for Swedish viewers.

FIA World RX set for return to Finland in 2025 - the home race of Niclas Grönholm
The FIA World RX today announced it will return to Finland in 2025 for the first time in five years, racing at the newly constructed Kymiring which will be the home race for CE Dealer Team star Niclas Grönholm.
"I'm really glad to get a home race in Finland and for the FIA World RX to be back in our country," said Niclas Grönholm, who races together with fellow Nordic racer Klara Andersson.
"The motorsport interest is really big in Finland and the interest for World RX is growing, this will of course further boost this. From what I have seen, the changes for Kymiring look really exciting and I can't wait to race there in 2025."
Located close to the city of Kouvola, 150km north-east of Helsinki, Kymiring will be used in the world championship for the first time as part of an ambitious project spearheaded by TRP Hungary in alignment with the Finnish ASN, AKK.
“Our vision is to develop and operate the leading sports and entertainment centre in the Nordic and the Baltic region, with the FIA World Rallycross Championship playing a major role," said Kymiring CEO Kornél Őry.
“Sustainability and environmental responsibility are of paramount importance to us, and the inclusion of World RX carries symbolic significance in this regard.”
Volvo Construction Equipment, which as an official partner of the FIA World RX, is responsible for track operations during events with its electric machinery and will play a key role in the construction of the Kymiring rallycross track.

Niclas Grönholm claims vital FIA World RX podium and points for CE Dealer Team in Portugal
Construction Equipment Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment stays in the hunt for the 2024 FIA World RX medals, as Niclas Grönholm secured his third podium of the season in the second to last double-header weekend at Montalegre in Portugal.
Niclas Grönholm bounced back after a challenging round in Belgium, with the Finnish rallycross star claiming two heat wins on his way to Saturday’s final, where he finished second after an action-packed race.
On Sunday, Grönholm once again made it to the final, ultimately finishing sixth after a puncture. The eight-time World RX winner remains in the fight for silver in the drivers’ standings, currently sitting fifth, just 21 points from second place.
“The feeling is good after yesterday’s podium, today was a struggle, also with the puncture in the final. One positive from the weekend is that we had really good starts, so we'll take that with us. I’ll take some time off now to come back ready to work hard and improve for the finale where we will fight to finish as high up as possible,” said Niclas Grönholm.
Klara Andersson heads into the final round of the championship in China holding sixth in the standings, 17 points behind her team-mate. After an incident-filled Sunday, the Swedish racer fought back strongly to finish a solid fourth in the final.
“This was the toughest weekend I’ve had in a while. It’s a shame because I love this track and know we can be fast here. We had a bit of bad luck, and I just didn’t feel comfortable in the car. We tried a lot, but now it’s time to dig deep, analyze, and do the homework for the next race” said Klara Andersson.
“It was great to see the full grandstands and the love for rallycross this weekend. We’ll be back stronger in the next race, ready to put on another great show - showcasing the thrills of sustainable motorsport."
CE Dealer Team continues its fight for the FIA World RX team medals, heading into the season finale ranked third overall.
"Mixed emotions from the weekend. Niclas had good pace on Saturday and was in the fight for the win but ran out of tires in the final. He was close, but not quite there. Klara had a tough start but showed great improvement on Sunday. Overall, we’re not fully satisfied with the weekend. We need to learn from this and come back stronger in the season finale where our goal is still firmly set high," said Jussi Pinomäki, Team Manager of CE Dealer Team.
CE Dealer Team hosted more than 150 guests from several countries in Europe throughout the weekend from hosting dealer Ascendum, as well as from team partners Parker Hannifin and CTEK.
Volvo Construction Equipment is the Official Track Building Partner to the FIA World RX championship in 2024 and showcased its electric product range and innovative services at Montalegre while maintaining the circuit in excellent condition.
